Image copyright
Hello. I received an email saying that a seller reported me for using his image. The image that I am using is the manufacturer's image and it can't be photographed in any other way other than vertically or horizontally, imagine a gold wedding band with nothing on it. Even if I take my own pictures they will look exactly the same.
I tried getting a letter from the manufacturer and it is complicated because they keep telling me of course I can sell their products (it's a generic product that I sell under my brand) but they won't issue a letter of authorization.

Unfortunately, using the manufacturer image would be considered copyright infringement...even if its just another seller reporting you.
What you are supposed to do is take the gold wedding band and take a picture of it with your smart phone while its in front of a solid colored surface...like a green screen or just a solid colored table.
Send those images to a graphic designer of your choice and they will give you unique lifestyle images that you can upload to your detail page.
With this method of generating your images, you will not get reported for copyright infringement.

Hi @Seller_4uVe2KS9NUpvC,
Thank your for your post. I understand you are dealing with a copyright issue regarding an image on one of your listings. In some instances, the image may have proactively been by Amazon when the listing violation appeared.
In order to remove the violation, you will need to submit a DMCA counter-notice from the listing violation. You may also contact the rights owner to request a retraction. When the violation first appeared, you would have received a performance notification containing the rights owner's contact information. You may contact them directly to request the retraction. It should be noted that any retraction needs to come directly to Amazon from the rights owner. It is also worth mentioning that you may take both actions simultaneously should you desire to do so.
Please feel free to reach out with any further questions or account updates, and we will assist you as best we can.
Regards,
Troy
