I’m a small publisher and seller of textbooks on Amazon. I’m writing this post to express my serious concern regarding the recent hike in Closing Fees for self-ship items.
Previously, the closing fee for my self-fulfilled orders was just ₹7, which was reasonable. But to my shock, this has now been increased to a staggering ₹45 per item, I am now paying ₹57+ in total fees for every ₹100 textbook sold – a margin that is simply not viable for small businesses like mine, especially when self-shipping is already being handled independently to reduce fulfillment costs.
Such fee hikes not only contradict your commitment to supporting small sellers but also create an unequal and unsustainable marketplace. If this is not addressed, many genuine sellers offering educational and affordable resources will be forced to exit the platform.

This going to effect my business also.. i depend of 100rs profit on each order but now its going to take another 35 rupees.. this will effect all the small scale sellers.. Amazon should reconsider to take this back.
Same .. here , badly impacted . and the ship charges are so high at FBA and easy ship
Amazon is deliberately doing this to force sellers to opt from self ship to easy ship. Amazon wants to make money at the cost of sellers. When we self ship a product we pay Rs.60 as courier charges, but when we switch to easy ship the amount ranges between Rs.130 and Rs.180. So as sellers we lose both ways either we self ship or opt for easy ship
Due to increase in Amazon Fee for Self Ship i am incurring huge loss, not able to sell product priced below Rs 200 category due to higher amazon closing fee of rs 45 + other costs near about rs 8 total charges per product is rs 53.
If any product i am listing at rs 115 (including delivery) i need to give 53 as Amazon fee, Amazon is charging 50% as on total price.
Earlier closing fee was rs 7 now is rs 45.
Now Amazon is saying no referral fee but one side amazon remove referral fee and on another side they increased closing fee which in total is more than earlier fees.
Hope to receive a solution for this.
and they are advertising it as biggest cut in seller fees...very pathetic Indian management of amazon wonder who makes such dumb marketing moves!!! even an uneducated person will do good calculation on expenses and profits.
