AWD Labels Thermal 4x6

I am working on an AWD shipment and was instructed to only use the A4 labels, but I am given the option for 4x6 thermal labels which I use already and would work much better. Is it acceptable to use the 4x6 thermal labels, since its an option? Trying to avoid any issues.

Hi @Seller_hUKJeIYVu4ND2,

I understand you're seeing the 4x6 thermal label option and wondering if you can use it instead of the A4 labels. Let me help clarify this based on Amazon's documentation.

According to the AWD box labels help page, under the "Print box labels" section, you'll need to use the A4 size SSCC labels that are provided in step 3. The page specifically states that "These SSCC labels are the only labels that are required on the outside of each box."

The 4x6 thermal label option you're seeing is actually meant for pallet labels, not box labels. This is mentioned in a different section of the help documentation.

Using the wrong label type could potentially cause issues with your shipment, including delays or rejection. The only exception is for international shipments where customs requires additional labels - in that case, you can add those extra labels as long as the SSCC label remains fully visible.

Hope this helps explain the label requirements! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards, Michael

Hi @Seller_hUKJeIYVu4ND2,

In step 3 of Send to Amazon Warehousing and Distribution, Print box labels Serialized Ship Container Code (SSCC), you’ll be provided with A4 box labels, which must be applied to the outside of each box that you send to AWD DC. Unfortunately this step is same for all seller shipments irrespective of the origin of shipment and carrier partner and the label size cannot be changed.

Important: Failure to label your box with the required unique SSCC labels will lead to delays, rejection, and may lead to blocking of the future shipments. Amazon will not be responsible for lost shipment, delayed processing, or shipment rejections in case you send shipments without the correct SSCC labels.

For more, please see the Send shipments to Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) help page.

If you are using a Rollo or similar printer you may purchase these label is a roll very inexpensively. There are several videos on YouTube with instructions on how to set up you printer to accept this size and how to switch back and forth if you are not familiar. They are the size of average mail address stickers and are more cost efficient than the 4X6 in the long run. They are also much easier to apply to your smaller FBA items.
