Restricted from selling ALLLL Canon Camera's and Lenses - MODERATOR HELP
Moderator please check Case ID 14747816571, please help !!
I am a small family owned and operated camera store, licensed, insured and registered. Proudly an FBM seller selling high quality used cameras and lenses on Amazon for 10 years and never had any new restrictions since day 1.
I have a good volume of sales on Amazon. Literally the hands down top notch seller of cameras and lenses on Amazon with a constant 100% feedback score, 100% account health, 0 violations, 100% on time shipments, always use Amazon Shipping Services, minimal returns (95% are customer faulted reasons) and all A-Z Claims are won by us because Amazon Shipping related issues ... absolutely zero negative issues whatsoever in the account past and present.
Then last week, the dreaded email from Amazon saying you're restricted (gated) from selling Canon branded gear saying that it's for the safety of Amazon customers. Naturally I call Amazon Seller Services, do chats and start a case with all the evidence of my account heath, etc. Always the same robotic responses, saying gating is to keep the Amazon environment safe and its customers safe.
Clearly there must be a glitch or fault, this absolutely doesn't make sense. I see other sellers that have been selling for years with 30-90% feedback scores and horrendous feedback left by customers, and those sellers are still actively listing new products to this day!
Please can a moderator help or does anybody have any advice on what could be going on?

Amazon and Canon file joint lawsuit to protect customers and hold counterfeiters accountable

Canon is enrolled in the Amazon Brand Registry and Project Zero

Looks like Amazon and Canon are working very closely together now and you selling used items, means you do not have official invoices/proof of authenticity :-(
I hope they will let you back in, but it's unlikely. Maybe contact Canon?

Hello @Seller_gN0YMG7yRE6aa,
I see you are facing an issue with gating for the Canon brand. When it comes to gating, you will have to provide invoices, letter of authorization from the brand, or licensing agreement. @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EI has provided valuable information about this as well.
I am engaging a Community Manager that specializes in this topic and they will be following up with you shortly.
Wishing you the best,
LeviDylan

Email Canon directly. We had a similar issue with a pet vendor and they authorized us right away. Certainly worth getting vetted

Yes, Canon gated their stuff, and unless you are a sizeable operation you are probably not getting that authorization. It is pretty nonsensical and has nothing to do with counterfeit gear, or "protecting the customers", but it is what it is.

If you do not have an LOA to sell Canon products on Amazon, consider yourself lucky that it lasted this long.
If you do have an LOA, directly from Canon. allowing you to sell Canon products on Amazon, simply provide Amazon with the LOA.
Problem solved... unless you have never been authorized, by Canon, to sell Canon products on Amazon?

I am sorry for you and I understand your upset. I just want to highlight something that you keep saying. How old the account is, feedback, health, and violations do not matter in this case. Canon chose to gate its brand and allow only certain sellers that possibly have links with them outside Amazon, or Amazon didn't reach them yet. In any case, you probably may not be able to sell Canon again on Amazon unless you can obtain authorization from Canon. Try that, it is the only way I see here.

Contact your distributor and the manufacturer. They will help you, if they approve their products being sold on Amazon.

Yeah, used cameras and lenses unfortunately a lot of time also means "gray market". Since they are sold as used, the us factory warranty doesn't matter, and this is what Canon is trying to prevent. Unless your store is also a factory authorized Canon repair center, I don't see this working out in your favor. Good luck with Ebay.

Canon has decided that only sellers they authorize can sell their stuff, whether new or used. This sort of practice is monopolistic/anti-competitive behavior and SHOULD be illegal, but nobody is going to challenge it in court, so unfortunately you will need to either find other items to sell on the platform or close your business.
I sell similar sorts of items (discontinued/used etc), and if this sort of practice continues to proliferate, I think eventually our businesses will no longer be viable. This hurts the consumer, who might like to purchase used goods at a discount, but the manufacturers love it because many of those customers who would buy a used item at a lower price will end up purchasing a new product from the manufacturer, since used is no longer available as an option.

I'm in same boat. Did you get anywhere with Canon?
