Hello Sellers & Amazon Team,

We include a standard 9V Zinc Carbon battery (Nippo Gold Extra Heavy Duty) in an educational kit listed on Amazon. The battery is not sold separately, only bundled with the kit.

To comply with Amazon's Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) regulations, we submitted an official SDS provided by the manufacturer, but it was rejected with the status:

"Not classified: Unable to classify. A valid SDS is required for any and all chemical-based products..."

We’ve already ensured:

The SDS is brand-specific and up-to-date

The battery is standard, non-spillable, and not hazardous under normal conditions

All required battery attributes (cell type, weight, packaging) are filled in compliance documents

Despite this, the submission was rejected without clear reason, and Seller Support hasn’t provided any actionable solution.

We'd appreciate help on:

What specific format or content is expected in an SDS for such standard Zinc Carbon batteries?

Is there a pre-approved SDS template Amazon accepts for educational kits that include non-lithium batteries?

Has anyone else faced this issue for standard dry cell batteries?

Any help or insight from Amazon staff or experienced sellers would be greatly appreciated.
