UPS SUREPOST IS NO LONGER?
According to news outlets, the contract between UPS and USPS for Sure Post ended 12/31/24 -- seems to be a lot of confusion in the masses of what is going on -- maybe I'm missing an Amazon announcement of the change? From what I understand, UPS is stuck with all the Sure Post in transit and now in process of being returned to UPS for them to do last leg.. anything from Amazon on this?

"maybe I'm missing an Amazon announcement of the change? "
The contract is with the USPS and UPS and actually has NOTHING to do with Amazon.
They need to stay far away from the situation. After all, it took them MONTHS to fix their incompetence with Ground Advantage and the change from First Class postage that actually DID involve them.
The LAST thing any of us need is having them stick their incompetent fingers into something that they have no control over and messing things up.

From what we've been told UPS will just be doing LMD. So its actually better for sellers. USPS wont have the chance to lose things.

Both my UPS and USPS reps told us that they will no longer pick up Surepost packages or delivery them.

google has been telling us for a year and a half that BritBox will go away April 2024 yet Amazon still tries to get me to buy it every time I turn on my TV. I don't think any of the hands of Amazon know what the other hands are doing. I know, this has nothing to do with the question. Thank you for posting though. I didn't know about it. Good to know.

We are continuing to use the "SurePost" when offered by Amazon and it is the best value. (Price and arrival time) It still has SurePost on the label.
Just talked with my UPS driver this morning on this.
Driver said, "SurePost is no more, we are delivering the packages. Just keep sending them that way and the UPS drivers will deliver them including "last mile" to customers. (even though it shows the transfer information on the label and they are addressed to the USPS local office)
I did read a few days ago, how the UPS union is crowing that they now will have more work and drivers will make more.
We typically use it with Amazon shipments including the guarantee delivery. In that case we get an INR, not our problem, we just provide the template on INR A-Z to the Amazon customer.

My UPS driver told me that USPS went up too much $$$ on the contract and UPS refused to renew it. UPS is delivering sure post on the last mile. I know this is true because our driver was offloading UPS surepost onto a smaller UPS truck that met him in our parking lot one day. Our surepost still has the USPS post office address in there, but like others have been told by their drivers, same for us, its all UPS now.

As a side-note, they did raise the pricing to be with-in pennies of USPS ground advantage for a lot of shipments <2 lbs. I think this is the best news I've heard in years.
Especially as I have 8 USPS orders "delayed" from the 27th of December that are still floating around in their network. We went from 95% USPS to 95% UPS in the course of a week, and our delivery times are so much better while our pricing only went up 2-5% overall (average per package). I was talking about the excessively long delivery times with the exec of one of our members of congress last week and was told they are planning on removing Dejoy in the near future, hoping someone new will fix the nightmare theyve become don't even know if its fixable at this point. If I could never have to ship USPS again I wouldn't, but sometimes you have to roll a hard 6 on things 10-15 oz.

Hello to @Seller_WPqdjXI585Hq0 and other sellers asking about UPS SurePost.
UPS Ground Saver and UPS SurePost are still available for shipping to physical address (non-PO/APO/FPO) destinations in the 48 contiguous states.
UPS Ground and Air services are still available to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and US territories.
There was a change in UPS Ground Saver and UPS SurePost services, leading to PO/FPO/APO addresses no longer being offered.
You can read more about the program here: UPS.com page: UPS SurePost. Please let me know if you have any questions or are seeing unexpected behavior.
