Question on Amazon Buy Shipping Label that UPS delivered late
@Connor_AmazonHi Connor! I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction or help us with this. We had one order that was picked up on time and scanned by our UPS daily driver that was for a UPS 2nd Day Saturday delivery. UPS had a delay on their end and the package was delivered late on Monday, so we wanted to reimburse the customer for their 2 day ship cost. Since we buy all our labels from Amazon, we can't get credited for the label, but was wondering if you knew of a way to do it. UPS won't bother when we tried. Order ID # 112-5811485-7072241

Hi @Seller_uAh6arSeIpEt8
Thanks for reaching out about this shipping hiccup. It's great that you're looking to make things right for your customer - that's the kind of seller attitude we love to see!
I totally get your frustration with the situation. UPS delays can be frustrating, especially when they impact premium shipping services like 2nd Day Saturday delivery. Let's see if we can figure out a solution for you.
Since you purchase your labels through Amazon, you're right that getting a direct refund on the shipping cost isn't straightforward. However, there might be a workaround we can try:
- First, double-check the "Shipping Credits" section in your Payments report for this order. Sometimes, Amazon automatically issues credits for late deliveries, even if it's the carrier's fault.
- If there's no automatic credit, you could try issuing a partial refund to the customer for the shipping cost. Go to the order details, select "Refund order," and choose "Partial refund." Then, enter the amount equivalent to the 2-day shipping cost.
- After issuing the refund, you can try to file for reimbursement from Amazon. Go to Seller Central > Help > Contact Us > Selling on Amazon > Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM) > Shipping & Delivery > 'Other shipping issue'. Explain the situation, provide the order number, and request reimbursement for the shipping refund you issued.
Let me know how this goes or if you need any more help. We're here to support you.
Best,
Connor
