We have observed that shipments for some of your recent orders have been confirmed prior to handing them off to a carrier.
We just got an email that said:
"We have observed that shipments for some of your recent orders have been confirmed prior to handing them off to a carrier. Sellers on Amazon are not allowed to confirm a shipment before they have sent at least part of the order to the buyer. "
But we use ShipStation and UPS picks up every night. How is this possible? Has anyone else gotten this message?

Anyone who uses Amazon buy-shipping is forced to confirm before handing off to the carrier.

If you have your settings set to send the tracking number to Amazon as soon as you print the label you have the answer.
You print the label, Amazon gets the notice, then HOURS LATER (Probably not until the next day) UPS shows they are in possession of the item.
If the pick up driver does not scan the label(s) at the time of the pick up it won't show scanned until it is at the location the driver takes it to. Even then, it might not get scanned until the morning hours of the day after you sent the tracking to Amazon.
This used to happen all the time with posts on the Forum for people using Amazon Buy Shipping because the buyer is notified of the 'shipment' as soon as the label is printed. They may have put in some sort of buffer now since I have not seen any posts like that for a year or more.
I use Stamps/Endicia/Dazzle and put in the tracking AFTER I drop everything at the PO or UPS and have never had any problems like you are seeing.

We just received the same warning and it has me scratching my head. My best guess is that in our case our new OnTrac driver is not scanning when picking up and as such, some packages show as shipped the following day. Just a guess. We're still looking into it. Scary.
Update - OnTrac did not scan the packages that they picked up yesterday so they all still show as "Not Yet Received" even though they left the warehouse yesterday.

We received the same message and we use Buy Shipping for USPS Ground Advantage for our orders. We think it might have something to do with us being in a rural area and the packages aren't moving from our local Post Office where we drop off until the following day due to recent USPS Service Standard Changes on April 1 2025. They used to get trucks at night that picked up the packages from the Post Office, now they only come once a day and it's earlier in the day before we drop off packages for the day. Our End of Day scan forms are scanned every afternoon when we drop off.

We received this email too. We never received that kind of notice before. I don't understand why they don't include some kind of report that shows the orders that flagged the issue so we can investigate.

I too received this notice! We are 100 percent on time delivery and 0 packages late. I don't get it???

This sentence is not making any sense to me. I've read and re-read it about 10 times now.
I haven't received this notice myself, but the way it works here is we buy the labels using Amazon Buy Shipping API, put the labels on the boxes, put the boxes on pallets, UPS and FedEx sends "feeder" trucks over, they pick up the pallets, then when they get to their individual sorting centers they scan them in. It's between 4-8 hours after pickup. Currently 99.36% (usually 100%) show shipped and delivered on time.
So what scenario are you guys facing that could cause this? We're using Buy shipping Services through API just like you...albeit a different service than ShipStation but functions the same way.

Maybe one of your packages was shipped but it did not track until a couple days later.

Hello @Seller_lCX40xAkSs1xm,

I see that you received an email stating that you have confirmed shipments prior to handing them off to a carrier. I understand that this type of messaging can be scary and confusing. I want to support you in finding an answer, but I will need some additional information.
Can you provide me with a case ID that you've opened about the issue? Have you identified an order ID that I can look at? Have you reviewed your shipped orders during that time? Did you check with UPS or ShipStation for any possible issues on their end?
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
Thank you,
Remy

Just another thing to stress about that amazon invented out of thin air. They know if your orders are late arriving. That's all that really matters to the seller and the consumer. That's all they should care about. Sellers can't control when things get scanned. We had 4 show up scanned 10 days late that hit our defect numbers. Turns out the ups truck had an issue and they didn't grab everything out of it. I'm sure we will get blamed. Anyways...back to working on our walmart listings!
