Does my product box NEED a barcode? If I don't have any type of barcode on my product, am I required to add an FNSKU barcode? If yes, is this barcode different for my product variations? Such as size and color?

If you are selling FBM, then there is no need for a barcode on the product; use whatever method lets you determine the correct product when you pick and pack it for shipping.
If you are using FBA, then every item requires a barcode; and while it is sometimes possible to use the manufacturer's UPC, it is HIGHLY recommended that you use an FNSKU, which not only identifies the item, but identifies you as the seller.
There will be a different FNSKU for every different item and variation you send to FBA, regardless of the difference (color, size, or totally different class of item). This will be matched to your specific SKU that you create when you create the listing, and is used by Amazon to ensure that they are picking the correct item.
