Creating a Removal Order

As an Amazon seller, you may need to create a removal order to have your inventory returned, donated/recycled, or liquidated. Here are the steps:

  • Go to the Manage Inventory page, Remove Unfulfillable Inventory page, Fix stranded inventory page, or Recommended Removal report.
  • Select the items you want to remove and choose Create removal order from the drop down button.

On the Create removal order page:

1. Under Method of removal, choose to have the inventory either:

  • Shipped back to you.
  • Returned to a designated recipient (e.g. manufacturer, recycler).
  • Donated/recycled at the fulfillment center.
  • Liquidated.

2. Enter a custom removal order ID or leave it blank to generate one automatically.

3. Review the product details, fulfillable and unfulfillable quantities for removal.

4. Click Review and then Confirm to submit the removal order.

To cancel a removal order:

1. On the Manage Orders page, search for the removal order by the order ID.

2. Under the Status, confirm the order is in Planning status.

3. If the status is Processing, you will not be able to cancel the order.

4. Click Cancel this order to cancel the removal order.

Note that removal orders can take 90 days or more to process. Ensure successful delivery by providing accurate contact information. For more information, visit remove inventory overview.
