return and refund

Does Amazon still automatically process refund on behalf of sellers once customers initiated return process but before the item is shipped back to sellers?

Amazon used to do that but it seems they no longer do it anymore.

Are you talking about RFS? If so, then yes, they do as far as I am aware (if the item s under $100). I have seen some posts about how inconsistent it has been though.

To make the question more clear, I am talking about Refund at First Scan (RFS) for seller-fulfilled returns. Does Amazon still do this? I have seen a lot of the returns not being process with RFS recently.

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

Amazon issues a Refund at First Scan for items returned through Amazon’s Prepaid Returns Label program. With Refund at First Scan, a buyer receives a refund when the returned item is dropped off at a designated carrier location using a prepaid return label that was issued by us. Returns that are self-ship or use a label paid for by the seller are not eligible for a refund at first scan.
