FCL - FBA
Hey All,
I recently created an FCL shipment directly to Amazon FBA for products classified under the "Large Bulky" tier. According to the FCL shipping guides, it mentions that products above the "Large Standard" tier, including "Large Bulky," must be palletized.
Is this accurate? If so, this could significantly increase the number of FCL shipments we need to make, potentially doubling or tripling our current volume. (While Amazon suggests the clampable method, what happens if the boxes haven’t been tested or are not compatible with clamping?)
We also looked into AGL, and their guides state that palletization is only required if the master cartons exceed 25 inches on any side.
Which guideline should we follow? For boxes smaller than 25 inches on each side but still in the "Large Bulky" tier, do they need to be palletized? Or is this a specific exception for AGL, possibly to encourage its use?
I've shared the links to both the AGL and FCL FBA guides below for reference:
• FCL - FBA (non-AGL):

• AGL - FBA:

Any insights or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

@SEAmodHi,
Can you please check to see if you have any insight on this?

Greetings,
If you're sending in an FCL shipment outside of AGL, I would recommend following the preparation guide linked here. If you're using AGL, follow the guidelines as they are laid out in the Seller University content you linked.
I can't speak to the root-cause for why there is a difference between the two, my recommendation would be to explicitly follow the guidelines for the method you choose.
