Amazon just played a trick regarding the missing units in our shipment

Hello, I would like to hear the opinions of sellers who have experienced such a case.

I requested an investigation by Amazon Seller Support due to missing units in a recent shipment.

However, instead of investigating that particular shipment, Amazon considered the excess units from a shipment over three months old as compensation for the missing units.

Shouldn't the two shipments be considered separately? I have never seen any Amazon policy that considers additional quantity from an older shipment as compensation for missing units in a recent shipment.

I have seen this numerous times.

However, I usually see it on the Vendor Central platform. Amazon will credit overages from past shipments to shipments with discrepancies.

I assumed a problem would arise from this practice but it never did.
