NEW AMAZON GLITCH - Absolutely Wrong Delivery Promised time!
Hi everyone,
I’m having a frustrating issue with the delivery promise dates for my products, and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this.
Here’s what’s happening:
My handling time is set to 0 days.
I use FedEx 2nd Day as my shipping method.
My default warehouse is in Florida.
For customers in places like California, Nevada, and Oregon, the delivery promise shows 1-2 days, which is accurate. But for nearby locations like Florida, Georgia, and New York, it shows 12 days or more! This makes absolutely no sense since the warehouse is in Florida.
I’ve spoken to three different Amazon support reps, and none of them have been able to figure this out. They all seemed confused and gave me generic answers that didn’t help at all. Honestly, it’s disappointing how little most of the support team understands about these kinds of issues.
I’m convinced this is some kind of glitch in Amazon’s system because my settings are correct, and there’s no reason the delivery dates should be so inconsistent.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Any advice on how to fix it would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I have a confirmation from Amazon that this is a glitch. It is probably killing your sales as well.
But noone is able to help me...

We're in the same exact boat. Infuriating!

Hello @Seller_mLMvpuYQRA727 Thank you for checking in with the forums about delivery promises and extensions.
Promise extensions are additional days that we may add to the delivery date to account for logistical factors that may delay a delivery such as extreme weather, transportation network constraints, or recent history of a seller delivering shipments after their set delivery date. You can check your OTDR and other metrics to determine if these might explain the delivery promises you are seeing.
As mentioned on the OTDR help page, our updated policy requires a minimum 90% OTDR without promise extensions to have seller-fulfilled products listed on Amazon.com. However, to ensure a positive customer experience, we recommend that you maintain an OTDR of 95% or higher for all seller-fulfilled orders.
If your OTDR without promise extensions consistently falls below 95%, Amazon may add promise extensions to reflect a more accurate delivery date for customers.

Amazon is ignoring the fact that my warehouse is located in Florida. The delivery time to a neighboring city should logically be 1 day, not 10+ days. Yet, customers on the West Coast, such as those in California, are seeing delivery promises of just 1-2 days. This defies common sense and the basic principles of logistics.
I reviewed some of your recent orders and the correct origin zipcode location is being used.
There are multiple reasons why delivery extensions might be added to orders/offers, including your delivery history and issues with the transit areas themselves.
I requested that our partner team review your questions, OTDR score, and offers to determine if there are any issues with how your delivery promises are being calculated nationwide.

But the problem is not about the promise extensions. The problem lies inside the internal system. For some reason backend of my aсcount thinks that I ship my products from SEATTLE location and accordinly all the promise days are calculated from there.
I reviewed your recent orders. Shipments are being calculated from your Florida zip code. They are not being calculated from Seattle.
I understand it is unusual for delivery promises from more-distant locations to have longer transit times than those from closer locations. As you were informed, this may be due to transportation network constraints. Given your OTDR, it is also possible that there is an error with how delivery promise extensions are being applied, with the error being that that they are incorrectly not being applied to all of your offers/orders.
There is an active case open with a request to review your questions and recent orders.

Thank you for that information @Seller_gQ0c6kCtoX2ON
I checked that case and see that the case is still open and being reviewed. If the team is able to provide you with additional information, they will follow up with you in that case.
I have recently reached out to our partner team regarding questions about delivery promises, and at the last review I was informed that these are accurate and being calculated as expected. I understand that sellers would like more specific details on delivery promises, and that request has been shared.
