20 year old seller account deactivated and no one knows why

Dear Amazon Seller Support Team,

We have a Vendor account and a Seller account for approximately 20 years.

Recently on June 6th our seller account was deactivated and the reason given in the email is “You have a separate account ACCOUNT_ID that was enforced for violating one of our policies.”

We have contacted Seller support and Vendor support many times, as well as talked on the phone with Account Health multiple times. There is no policy violation and no one seems to be able to understand what the issue is.

Our Vendor account referenced in the email doesn’t have any violation. The account is active and we use it on a daily basis. We have written confirmation from Vendor Support that our account does not have any violations and it’s active (Please see Vendor Support Case ID 15448504541 where they confirm our Vendor account doesn’t have any policy violations).

When we contact Seller support they tell us they see in the system our linked vendor account has an issue but the system doesn’t tell them what issue exactly is it. Seller support asked for written confirmation from Vendor that the account doesn’t have a violation, we provided that (Case ID 15448504541), and yet they say their system doesn’t allow them to activate our account and they are unable to see why.

We just need vendor and seller support to talk to each other so they can see that the vendor account is in good health and reactivate the seller account, but It looks like vendor and seller don’t talk to each other.

We are trapped in this loop going back and forth between the 2 support teams and it looks like this is just a glitch in amazon’s system or a wrong attribute that is causing Seller support to see our Vendor account with a violation when there is no violation. We really don’t know what else to do.

Is there any way someone can help us please?

This is a grey area.

Amazon is not good at resolving grey areas. To the point where I think its deliberate. I believe that Amazon, purposely, creates grey areas.

You are not allowed two accounts without the "official approval" of Amazon. This includes a Vendor Central account.

This is a grey area because....pretty much every brand I am able to look into their Amazon operations has both a Seller and Vendor account.

I suspect that whoever sent you that notice does not have a template they can send you that states "You are not allowed two accounts". So they used the template that comes the closest to what they are trying to enforce.

"Separate account that was enforced for violations one of our policies"....which is misleading because nothing concrete was violated. I suspect its just the matter of having two accounts.

I have seen this be triggered when both the Seller and Vendor accounts are active in one listing.

had a similar issue years ago without any resolve. I hired a lawyer who sent an overnight demand letter to Amazon legal department to activate my account with case IDs, notices & all correspondence with Amazon. Amazon referred the letter to their legal Firm that they use Davis Wright Termaine LLP and it took at least 3-4 weeks for my account to get re-activated. Good luck

I'd send a request for arbitration. At least, it will go beyond seller support and you might get some actual help (without even entering arbitration proceedings).

Amazon AI knows of no appreciation for dedicated sellers that have stuck with them for years. What a shame.
