Do you know what is Amazon IXD ?

Amazon's Inventory Placement Program, also known as Amazon IXD, is a service designed to simplify inventory management for Amazon.in sellers using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). The program allows sellers to send their inventory to a single fulfillment center instead of distributing it across multiple locations.

Key Features:

  • Centralized inventory reception: Sellers can send all their inventory to a single Amazon fulfillment center, regardless of the final destination.
  • Automated distribution to regional fulfillment centers: Amazon's sophisticated logistics network automatically redistributes inventory to various fulfillment centers based on demand and location optimization.
  • Reduced shipping costs for sellers: By shipping to a single location, sellers can often benefit from lower transportation costs and bulk shipping rates.
  • Simplified logistics management: The program eliminates the need for sellers to calculate and manage inventory distribution across multiple centers.
  • Integration with existing FBA tools: IXD works seamlessly with other Amazon seller tools and reports, providing a cohesive inventory management experience.

Benefits:

  • Time-saving: Sellers can significantly reduce the time spent on preparing and managing shipments to multiple locations, allowing them to focus on other aspects of their business.
  • Cost-effective: Potential for lower shipping expenses due to consolidated shipments and reduced complexity in transportation logistics.
  • Streamlined operations: Easier tracking and management of inventory through a single point of entry into Amazon's fulfillment network.

Thank you for providing the information. Can you please explain if Amazon IXD program works for SKUs which are considered as Heavy and Bulky as well. This information will help sellers like me whose products are 8,5 Kg in actual weight but 13.5 Kg when converted into volumetric weight.

Nowadays, it is hard to get a new GST in other states.

It used to be completely online process, but now you have to do physical biometric and doc verification.

It is sad to say that now small to medium level sellers can't's take and manage multi states GST easily.

Hope some new rules come out to make this process easier in the near future.

If anyone has applied for a new GST recently, please share your experience.

Idea behind IXD is good but execution still needs improvement.

In our case, replication was done to low selling clusters like AMD while many important clusters like BLR and BOM were poorly replicated. Our LIS% fell after enrolling to IXD, we were able to better replicate on own using ATS.

In our case atleast, they didn't divided inventory properly and ship them to multiple FCs. With Regional discovery in play, this results in a fall in impressions.

We believe that IXD algorithm will improve over time, but the current algorithm does have limitations. Or it might be the case that IXD works better in certain categories of items, and not in others. After trying IXD for 6-8 months, now we have applied for deregistering from IXD because of these reasons.

IXD is better for sellers if they are facing difficulties in analysing cluster wise demand. Your workload around making boxes will reduce tremendously, and by sending FTL to a single IXD centre is cheaper than using ATS for sending FC shipments.
