Remove phone EXTENSION field from customer info?

When a customer adds an phone extension to their order information, it gets pulled into Shopify, then pulled into my shipping software, and it causes an error - because UPS, USPS, Fedex, ect only allow 15 digits.

This is a new problem (just started last week), and I can't figure out how to fix it.

- The app between Shopify & Amazon (called Codisto) says it's not their fault

- Shopify says it's not their fault, and I can't remove the "extension" field from a customer order

- Shipping company says they just pull all the info that's in Shopify, and can't chane that

- I don't even SEE an "extension" field in Amazon customer information.

ANY IDEAS WELCOME, I'm losing my mind over here. Thanks.

The phone number and extension aren't the buyers real phone numbers. Its Amazon generated and they all include an extension. And the extension is needed to contact the buyer (carrier should be the only one contacting buyer with this number).

Had the same issue with our old software.

Just deleted the extension. -UPS is not going to call the customer anyways. Never had a problem when deleting the extension

Our new software allows us to use Amazon labels, so it is no longer a problem.

UPS phone numbers can only be 10 digits max, so its just another terrible amazon feature that was never tested properly, or thought out

Just curious why are you using shopify? Does it have better shipping rates?

What is wrong with shipping thru Amazon seller central?
