EC Declaration of Conformity
I have a product which I have been asked to provide an EC declaration of Conformity for ( I am familiar with them as I have provided some before for other products). My issue is, I went straight to the manufacturer who are Mattell who said they would not provide it, I then contacted the retail store I purchased it from, and they will not help either. I understand that this product has been discontinued so wholesalers are not an option either. I have 'appealed' it, to which they just replied and said I need to provide it. I have exhausted every avenue, and don't know how else to get this compliance document. Any ideas?

You are on shaky ground here if you are buying goods from retail stores and selling on Amazon as 'New'. If they ever ask you for proper purchase invoice you will not be able to provide them, only receipts, which are often not accepted, and technically you should only be selling as 'like new' as you cannot verify the supply chain.

I would not recommend buying from retail stores, only established wholesalers who are able to provide an invoice will work with Amazon.
If you are unable to provide the EC declaration of conformity, then I would suggest selling elsewhere unfortunately.

if you google
"EC declaration of Conformity mattel"
there is a link to a portugese website with a "one size fits all" ec declaration of conformity from Mattel to cover all of their products that they have marked with a CE - document is in a pdf file.
if your product has a Netherlands 1186 address on it that you can show amazon - it might just work.
but as the other posters said - do be careful with products sourced from anywhere other than authorised distributors.
