Error: 'Manufacturer barcode linked to multiple ASINS' / Incorrect UPC and EAN retail contributions / re-sold GS1 barcodes
Issue:
Can't Send/Replenish inventory for two of my ASINs due to the error: "This manufacturer barcode is linked to more than one ASIN. Please check if you entered the correct product ID (ISBN, UPC, or EAN)"
INITIAL reason identified for Issue, but see 'ADDITIONAL INFO - IMPORTANT' below as well!
Multiple catalogue specialists have confirmed that the Amazon UK retail team has made incorrect UPC/EAN contributions to the ASIN (for reasons unknown). However, two ASINs are caught up in this is because the incorrect UPC added to the ASIN belongs to a second of my ASINs.
Current Status:
This issue was reported in US case ID 13857966191 over two weeks ago and despite speaking to Seller Support/Brand Registry/Captive and Leadership teams every day who've advised that the matter has been escalated to the retail team to 'remove the incorrect product identifiers', it feels that I am nowhere closer to getting this case resolved.
Request to Amazon:
Please help me to resolve this case? I urgently need to replenish my stock for Q4 sales. We are the manufacturer and brand owner for all our products and have been selling the affected ASINs on Amazon worldwide for nearly 8 years. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
ADDITIONAL INFO - IMPORTANT!
The GTIN attached to the ASINs in question were purchased as part of a batch of 10 barcodes from a UK re-seller of GS1 barcodes in 2015-2017. I have provided the certificate of ownership for the GS1 barcodes as supplied by the re-seller in the above case ID which states that I am the sole authorised owner of these unique GS1 barcodes.
I understand from reading other threads in this forum that Amazon is trying to clear up their database of products and its current policy is that Amazon expects the brand under which UPCs are sold to match or be associated with the licensee/owner information for the UPC as recorded in the GS1 database.
This is obviously an impossible ask for ASINs attached to re-sold GS1 barcodes created in their platform so long ago. Ultimately, my business is where it is at today because I have been selling my products under those specific ASINs/GTINs for nearly 8 years, building up 1,000s of reviews and credibility for them within their category. I sincerely hope that this is not the 'real' reason behind this case remaining unresolved and that Amazon does NOT want to effectively 'kill' my business off overnight with this demand.

Hello @Seller_McuEuFL4e3DCe,
Michelle at Amazon here. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your UPC's. I have reviewed the case and see that they are working with the correct teams to try get this fixed for you, however, please know that UPC's are only valid when purchased directly from GS1 and are not valid when you purchase them from re-sellers such as the ones that you purchased as they are not registered in GS1 under your brand/business name. I would suggest that you purchase UPC's directly from GS1. You can find the policy here regarding valid UPC's.
Please allow the team to work on your issue in the case. If they are not able to fix the listing, I would suggest that you create a new ASIN with a new GS1 certified UPC.
I hope you find this information helpful.
Regards,
Michelle
