SKU question for new listing
Hi, I am brand new to amazon and in the process of creating my first listing. I am getting an error stating "You are using UPCs, EANs, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN codes that do not match the products you are trying to list". I contacted support and they are asking me for the SKU for the product. This is a brand new listing so I don't have a SKU yet. I that something I just make up and enter into the contribution SKU area when I am creating the listing?
Thank you

the most important thing to do, before you sell ANYTHING, is taking the time to put yourself through Amazon's seller university. Watch the videos and if there is anything unclear, come here and ask. DO NOT start selling without to go through that....

Hello @Seller_2FFOSfXErV5Fm,
Michelle at Amazon here. First off, welcome to Amazon! We are happy to have you here!
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues listing your new product. It sounds like the UPC that you are trying to use is not matching the product. Please know that all UPC's must be valid and GS1 registered. As far as Seller Support asking for a SKU, when you create your listings, you will need to create your own unique SKU for each listing you create on Amazon. You can read more on how to create a listing here.
As @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EI stated, Seller Universityis a great place to start to learn more about Amazon so you don't end up in trouble for any policy violations etc.
Here is also a New Seller FAQ page which will lead you to a the New Seller Forums group you may be interested in as well.
I hope you find this information helpful! Let me know if you need anything else.
Regards,
Michelle
