error 8572

I am trying to list a new product, generic because I do not have a brand yet, the code I am using was purchased on the gs1 platform, it has never been used for any other product, I have not finished saving the list and it still gives me an error 8572. Could someone help me with this please. When I listed my first product it only had 3 variations and I bought 10 codes by mistake, the 3 used I crossed off my list and in this case I am trying to use one of the 7 that I have left.

The brand the code is registered to must be an exact match to the brand in the listing.

Hello @Seller_E2Qc4b2QC9M9g- and thank you for looking to the forums for some assistance with this error code. I also appreciate @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EIfor offering some guidance!

I wanted to add the guidance from our Generic Product Policy, which states:

"An unbranded product does not have a distinctive name or logo. For example, a mobile phone case that does not belong to a brand would not have any branding, so the product should use the string “generic” for the brand name field when creating a new listing."

When you create this new listing, and select the option that indicates the product does not have a brand, does the listing then use the string 'generic' as indicated above? It's also important to check the GTIN requirements by category to understand if different requirements may be impacting.

If that does not help, it may be necessary to create a case with support with the requested details from the help page on Error 8572.

I hope this helps, and thanks again for engaging here on the forums!
