is it just me? all of sudden many brands I have been sellling require approvals

Since May 2024, I have noticed that without any notifications, many name brands (such as honeywell, motorola, corsair etc, just name a few, actually there are many more). I have been selling without application before suddenly becomes "approval is required". My existing listings are still active, But I cannot change/edit or add another listing of that brand.

I am wondering if these brands just raised their bar for selling? (but one of my friend actually can still sell these brands) or my account health fell below their bar?

I did received a few inauthentic complaints in April from one brand for selling used item without retail packages (I listed as used, not selling as new, buyers simply just made false complaints ). And they would not accept my receipts since it is not directly from the brand.

I am thinking the complain might trigger the limit but not sure. other than that I don't see my account health has much change, actually overall health is improving.

This is very frustrating, I am wondering if the gated brands will become ungated again when my account health is further improved? Any insights will be much appreciated!.

Hello @Seller_PDgPqby9g0aaQ,

Michelle at Amazon here. While I understand that this may be frustrating for you, Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. While you may have been approved in the past, as the Amazon catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction. At this time, the only way to be able to list these items is if there is an option to apply to sell through Seller Central. To do this, go to Catalog>Add a Product. Next find the ASIN you would like to sell and then apply to sell if there is an option. You can find a link to the policy here.

I have reviewed your Account Health page and I would encourage that you appeal or submit documentation on any violations that you have. This does not mean that you will receive approval to sell the items you were restricted from selling, however, if you don't appeal, this can lead to account suspension.

For the items that you are not longer able to list or add new products, you will need to request approval.

Regards,

Michelle
