VAT fees to Europe
Hi
Does anyone out there know what the current situation is regarding VAT fees incurred when shipping to Europe? As I understand it Amazon makes the Seller liable for these fees...because of this I became a UK-only seller. However, a European sale somehow came through yesteday - to Finland - and I was surprised to see that the VAT fees had been charged to the Buyer. I thus went ahead and shipped the item, rather than cancelling the sale. Any insights?

Hello @Seller_No516SrfKk7pE,
This is Sakura from Amazon. Thanks for your post.
Checking amazon.co.uk and Help Pages for the buyers, I have found this information regarding Import Fees Deposit, VAT and Duties:
“For deliveries of goods sold or fulfilled by Amazon to the EU you will either be charged VAT or an Import Fees Deposit at checkout. […] If the actual Import Fees are less than the Import Fees Deposit collected by us on your behalf, you'll automatically be refunded the difference to the payment method you used for the order.”
Here you can find more information about this topic:

I hope it gives some insight.
