I have pre-loaded the warehouses for my FBA holiday sales based on last year's sales, recent sales history, and the unit demand forecast tool.
However, the unit demand forecast tool is showing significantly higher optimistic forecasts for the upcoming weeks - double last year's sales despite the past several weeks being slightly below last year.

Dominic from Amazon here, happy to help with this. These demand estimates are built using a probabilistic forecast model that is unique to each of your products. The model incorporates information that includes previous orders, active deals, and any seasonal influences.
