Amazon stopped sending Seller Tax Invoice Document

We used to be able to get our Seller Tax Invoices and submit them as expenses for our business which is located in Europe.

But since November, we have not received an invoice. I contacted support but they were no help…They said that because I had submitted my VAT number, these invoices were not expected. How does that even make sense?

Anyways, I think the support does not understand my issue and hoped someone from the community would know. This is really important because we can’t justify our Amazon expenses which are high and all the revenue is considered as profit which is not true!

Hi @Seller_JtdRRxhJdmlgD

I think the 'EU Value Added Tax (VAT) frequently asked questions' help page explains what's happening (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G201748700).

According to the "Why did I not receive an EU VAT tax invoice?" section, once you provide a valid EU VAT registration number, Amazon stops sending VAT invoices because they're no longer charging you EU VAT on your fees.

This makes sense because the help page explains that Amazon only calculates and collects EU VAT on fees from sellers who meet all three of these conditions:

  • Do not have an EU VAT registration number
  • Are EU residents
  • Sell on a non-EU website

For your business expense documentation, you can still:

  • Access your fee information in Order Details
  • Find your records in Seller Central > Reports > Tax Document Library > Seller Fee Tax Invoices
  • Note that according to the help page, sales to VAT-registered sellers "may be subject to EU VAT collection under a reverse charge mechanism"

I hope this helps.

Kind regards, Michael
