did you consider dimensional weight? Large package adjustments? Have you tried to enter your exact package size and weight at the carrier website to see what the cost is?
And if the dog food is 27 pound, did you add another pound or 2 for the box?

This is a very common occurrence these days. Many of us are dealing with it.
Log everything carefully. There will be a lawsuit coming soon.

Which FedEx service did you use? Ground, Express, One Rate?
Seller_CDIlYf8JkHjBD
the best price thru Amazon portal was one rate .

If you use One Rate, you must use the FedEx branded boxes that say One Rate on there. There are no exceptions to this by FedEx. If you don't use their boxes then you will be surcharged.

Hello @Seller_Wvz1tEYhNCwlb Please check out the above links with FedEx update, including the option to use your own packaging for FedEx One rate.

Thank you for that information, It didn't used to be that way for FedEx years ago.

Fedex charges based on Package Dimension x Weight x Zip, keep in mind the dimensions must always be rounded up.
For example: a package physically dimensions 15 1/4 x 8 1/8 x 5 1/2 you have to declare 16 x 9 x 6, sometimes the real physical dimension is classified as Small but is closer to in3 limit, but when rounded up it goes to the next level as Medium and the cost completely changes and so gon on. You should better call to a Fedex representative and ask more information.

Hello @Seller_CDIlYf8JkHjBD. Thank you for checking in about carrier adjustments for your FedEx adjustment.
As @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EI and other sellers mentioned, carrier adjustments can be based on differences in dimensions as well as weight. This is especially true for the FedEx One Rate shipping service. If you provide a case ID or the carrier-audited dimensions I can review the details for these adjustments.
If a label was purchased with package dimensions equal to or under 2200 cubic inches but the carrier-audited dimensions were larger, the package no longer qualifies for One Rate and a different service with higher rate was applied.

Any seller disputes of carrier adjustments must be sent to seller support. We recommend being very specific about the dispute, and including photos that support the dispute claims.
Our partner team asked me to advise sellers to be precise when measuring box dimensions for shipments. Even a one-inch difference matters for the FedEx One Rate shipping service. The difference between 18x12x10 inch vs. 18x12x11 inch dimensions can decide whether a package is under/over the 2200 cubic-inch threshold for a FedEx One Rate XL box.
It is also recommended to all sellers to be careful to avoid overpacking boxes. Boxes can bulge/expand during shipping, and even a small, one-inch expansion can cause FedEx to scan and rate a package outside of the One Rate program price.
18 by 10 by 12 box holding 27lbs bag of dog food....being 8oz? Unlikely
The 8 ounces was in reference to the empty box, not the full shipment.

OBVIOUSLY! However, no way a box that size, thick enough to handle a 27 pound bag of dog food, is 8 ounces!

I'm surprised so many people use Amazon shipping with all of these issues. We never have issues with the other programs

This is the new FedEx Disease! They are doing this to a lot of people. It happened to us twice, and stopped shipping with them at all. The first time, we were shocked. The second time, we went into FedEx, had them check the weight, but the guy said he can't write it anywhere (that it was fine). We actually entered numbers a tad bit more than they were, and they doubled our charge. No one would do anything. So, I learned. Either they verify my weight and measurements (like our USPS does) or I ask them to (like our UPS does), or forget it.
Wishing you good luck. Sorry you are dealing with this. Very hard to find resolution.
