Hello from Amazon,
I understand that your concern was regarding GTIN exemption.
Firstly, please ensure that your brand and category are eligible for a GTIN exemption. It can be given if you deal in non-branded or private labels, handicrafts, or sell parts which do not have GTIN.
Video on How to apply for a GTIN exemption:
You can watch a quick video to see how you can apply for a GTIN exemption.

To apply for a GTIN exemption, follow the below steps:
-
Go to the “Inventory” tab > “Add a product”.
-
Under the topic “What’s a GTIN?”, click Learn more to access the Help page “How to list products that do not have a product ID (UPC, EAN, JAN or ISBN)” in Seller Central.
-
Scroll down to “Next steps” and click Request approval. You will land on the “Apply for GTIN exemption” form.
-
Select the product category by clicking “Select” and then select your product category from the options.
-
If you want to apply for exemption in multiple categories, click “Add more categories”.
-
Enter your brand name or publisher name in the same format as printed on the product label or packaging. For example, if your brand name is JIVA, do not enter Jiva or jiva.
Note: If your product does not have a brand name, enter “Generic” (case sensitive) in the Brand / Publisher field.
-
After entering the brand name, click “Check for eligibility”. You can get instant approval here or you might be asked to provide more documents basis your eligibility. If approved here, you can start listing your products after 30 minutes. If not, then move to next step.
-
Click “Continue to submit proof”.
-
Do you have the support letter from the brand: Choose (Yes/No).
If you choose “Yes”, you will be prompted to upload the support letter in either of the given file types, PDF, JPG, TIFF, PNG, or DOC and the size should not exceed 4 MB.
The Support Letter should clearly mention:
* the brand does not provide a GTIN
* letter must also include issuer's name, contact details, and reason for not providing a GTIN.
If you choose “No”, you will be directed to enter the complete product name and upload three images that covers the product as well as packaging from all sides. The brand name on the image should match with the brand name entered for the GTIN exemption.
In case you need additional information, please contact SPS (Selling Partner Support) for assistance.
Thank you,
Anjali
