How to add EAN number to an exempted ASIN

I have an ASIN that i created very long ago when ii was starting off and did not put in the EAN number.

Is it possible to add an EAN number now that i have GS1 Numbers available?

Please provide a guided answer.

Hi @Seller_D98Mirvgy2mou,

Your GTIN exemption, granted at the account level, only makes the 'external product ID' optional when creating a listing. However, now that you have GS1 EAN numbers (GTINs), you can add an EAN to your ASIN anytime via the web interface or by using a flat file.

When updating the ASIN, you’ll need to define both external_product_id_type and external_product_id. Although the numbers you’ve purchased from GS1 are technically GTINs, Amazon requires you to set external_product_id_type to EAN in this case. If you try setting it to GTIN, it will result in an error.

Kind regards, Michael
