Amazon return reasons dont apply to my product
I rarely return a purchase but needed to today and when I read over the Amazon reasons for the return I like that it starts by asking the customer to SELECT THE MOST ACCURATE REASON FOR THE RETURN to help us gather essential feedback, that enables us to continuously improve our services and product quality. BUT sadly NONE of the 12 reasons Amazon listed apply to why the product I bought did not work out for me. The product is not at fault so any reason I select forces me as a buyer to select a return reason that is not true and will give the Seller a false negative feedback against the seller that is not justified. So instead of submitting a false negative reason I will try to reach the seller and hopefully figure out a way to make the return and not hurt his seller ratings.
As a Seller myself of a product that doesn't relate to the majority of the return reasons listed, this experience really shines a light on why some of our past customers requested a return reason for our product using a negative reason that doesn't really apply to our product that ends up giving us a bad product ranking. Sadly Amazon does not give us Sellers a way to defend ourselves to correct a false negative. To be truly ACCURATE the customer needs a way to give the real reason he wants to return a product. This would help the customer, Amazon and we the Sellers.
A SIMPLE SOLUTION would be for Amazon to add to the bottom of the mostly non relevant list of return reasons the words OTHER REASON FOR RETURN and let the customer type in his real reason for requesting a return.
I hope Amazon will add this simple solution to all of their current and future list of reason for a return.
