Fake orders on COD and Fake Rejection
Dear Amazon,
We are writing to express our serious concerns regarding a recurring issue of fake Cash on Delivery (COD) orders placed by customers. These customers are placing orders and then rejecting them during transit or upon delivery, often after the package has been opened by your inspection team. This practice is causing significant financial losses and operational challenges for us as sellers.
Our products are handmade, and our packaging is designed to protect these unique items. When rejected packages are opened by your inspection team at the hub, it often leads to the product being damaged or compromised, rendering it unsellable. We urge you to refrain from opening rejected COD packages during their return transit, especially those that have been refused by the customer without being opened by them.
Furthermore, we request that Amazon implement a penalty system for customers who repeatedly engage in such fraudulent behavior. The current situation forces sellers to absorb substantial losses, including advertising costs, platform fees, storage fees, shipping fees, packaging costs, and the cost of damaged goods. This is unsustainable and significantly impacts our ability to operate profitably on your platform. We believe many other sellers are facing similar challenges.
We are incurring significant losses due to these issues. If a solution is not found, we will unfortunately be forced to reconsider our continued presence on the Amazon platform. We kindly request your urgent attention to this matter and prompt action to address these concerns.
Sincerely,
Fake orders on COD and Fake Rejection

I had never faced this before because I was using Self Ship and in that COD is not available. Now because of the fee hike I started using Easy Ship and now facing the exact problem as yours.

Best Advice:
It may be wise to reconsider continuing your operations on the Amazon marketplace. The platform often does little to protect sellers from fraudulent buyers and shady practices by certain delivery hubs. If you continue selling here, the losses may keep increasing over time.
Most sellers end up burning significant amounts of money on advertisements, high commission fees, shipping charges, and GST- without any guaranteed support or protection in return. Even Safe-T claims are frequently rejected, especially when filed often, making recovery of losses nearly impossible.
Amazon has unfortunately become more seller-unfriendly in recent years, and many experienced sellers are beginning to realize that the long-term risk outweighs the benefit.
My Suggestions:
Build your own website and sell directly to consumers – This gives you more control over your brand, customer experience, and profits.
Explore other marketplaces or niche platforms relevant to your product category.
Invest in building a loyal customer base through WhatsApp marketing, email marketing, and direct outreach instead of spending on Amazon ads.
Track all return fraud patterns—and if you still stay on Amazon, avoid high-risk PIN codes or products that are commonly exploited.
Final Thought:
The faster you transition away from Amazon and build your own ecosystem, the safer and more sustainable your business will be in the long run.

Just recently I received an order which I knew was a fake order because the address only said Secunderabad and nothing else. So as expected the parcel was not delivered and is showing returning to seller since 19th June and there hasn't been any update ever since. Amazon has so much behavioural data of its clients then why can't they prevent such issues? This is very frustrating.
