Package unexpectedly forwarded to another address.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this. I had a customer reach out to me this weekend saying that their package was lost in the mail (via USPS). I looked into it and it says that the package was out for delivery and then an hour later forwarded to another address all together instead. Was this the fault of USPS? Or could the customer have possibly forgot to take forwarding info off their account? Wrong address? I've just never seen it before where its out for delivery to the address and then all of a sudden forwarded to another address an hour later.

I'm willing to give a refund/reship, but my concern is reshipping as if the address is wrong etc I don't want to reship and have it re-forwarded to the wrong address again.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, it does happen. If a buyer files a moving notice with USPS, the item goes to the new address. The USPS tracking, not the tracking Amazon displays, has all the details to prevent the INR claim.

Now with the truth said about, that will not prevent a scammer from altering address and making false claims all in an effort to get a free product,
