Amazon is not a "learn as you go" platform. You first mistake may easily be your last. Do not think if you can figure out how to list it you are ready to go. Spend time in Amazon seller university and learn how things work. Read a few hours worth of forum posts to learn what you deal with.

To answer your question, yes jewelry requires a GTIN per the Product ID (GTIN) requirements by category help page at this time. The category also requires approval before you can list and sell your products. For more information, see Category Approval Process.
