Amazon keeps padding delivery times... Why?

Hi,

This has been on going issue for me for a long time, amazon keeps extending my delivery times and it really affects my sales, it literally changes all the time without reasoning, i don't have SSA on so it shouldn't change, i had a thread going about this a month ago, seller support and users were telling me because my On Time Delivery Rate was 92% and not over 97% then this is the reason for the extreme padded delivery dates shown to my customers, well i've been working hard to get my OTDR over 97% and it's now 98%, so what reason do we have now for my padded delivery days? Order from me today shows delivery 11th-13th when it should be showing delivery 8-9th. It's a joke and affects my sales massively, amazon trying to push more buyers to prime i assume by keep doing this???

Do you have setting on for a max number of dispatches you can make a day? That adds extra deliv time if you go over your stated max output for the day

I have this is issue too, however it does also go the other way and out of the blue I have a spike in sales when Amazon set the delivery times back to what they should be.

I have contacted CS about this and they say that their system takes into account known issues with courier companies plus it can see trends based on all of the deliveries which show if areas are slow for some reason. So if you happen to be sending out from an area where Amazon thinks RM for example are not performing as they should be it will add days on.

I have tried switching off the automated ETA setting for deliveries, but this just extended the time even furthers, so had to turn it back on.

This is just another problem to add to the growing list of issues in the seller forum post below:

Amazon is burning sellers! Overpriced FBA Rates, Dimensional Weight Farce, Monopoly of Selling Prices.

If Amazon makes merchant-fulfilled delivery times look longer than they are then it increases the selling point of using FBA for both customer and seller. Unfortunately, this is often achieved off the back of misleading information.

I personally don't think the bulk of customers are as reliant on Amazon Prime as we've all come to believe. We've recently been testing the removal of FBA on some of our listings that were impacted by extortionate dimensional weight fees.

The results were unexpected in that customers seem to value the overall best-selling price regardless if it's FBA or not. The problem is that Amazon normally makes the FBA option the Featured Offer (Buy Box) so the customer often doesn't see the best price option as Amazon's preferred option is being advertised to the customer. Even though the customer can still access other offers, the majority of the time they will decide if they wish to purchase an item or not based on the Featured Offer.
