Opening a selling account for my own business

Greetings all,

I've been managing an account as a secondary user for the current company for a few years now.

So, to be able to add a secondary user to an account one must provide a valid ID.

Now I've decided to start my own business on Amazon.

Will the above mentioned fact prevent me from opening a new selling account? Since my information is already in Amazon's system, I assume.

The concern is the registration will be rejected, linking my new account with the company's account even after me leaving.

Thank you in advance for any help and insight into this.

"add a secondary user to an account one must provide a valid ID." Are you sure about this? When I added two secondary emails to my account last November, just name and email address were needed, nothing else was required. But maybe things have changed lately...

Regarding account linking, I read from the forum that's very risky so try to use different IP's. But multiple accounts are allowed for legitimate reasons. Then again, the almighty algorithm might catch you and you have to take unknown time to reactivate your account so I would try to use a different name and address, new computer, a VPN, maybe?

Good Evening @Seller_dFZZFnczGzY2c, I just wanted to follow up with you regarding your question about opening another selling account after supporting another business for several years.

Here is the Comply with Amazon’s Multiple Account policy. Additionally in the Selling policies and seller code of conduct:

You may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing. If any of your accounts are not in good standing, we may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all accounts are in good standing.

Examples of a legitimate business justification include:

  • You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each
  • You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies
  • You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts

Hopefully that helps answer your question. Feel free to let us know if we can help answer anything else. Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
