It is possible to request Amazon to hold inventory before old stock runs out?

Hello everyone,

We are brand holders that offer food supplement products. Our products have a best before date.

We have an issue where for one of Sku's, the new inventory will most definitely be ready a few weeks before the old one runs out. The product formulation has changed a bit so we would like the old stock to run out first. Our manufacturer is unable to hold the inventory for us.

We wanted to ask if there is a way we can send the inventory to Amazon but it is only released before the old stock runs out?

We would greatly any advise.

Thank you

Nope, not at all.

If I was in your position, I would probably run a heavily discounted sale, and make sure the stock at FBA was down to zero before the new stock arrived. Then edit the listing to reflect the new formula (which hopefully is just a small tweak, or else you should really make a new listing with a new EAN).

If you use Amazon barcode (FNSKU), it can be done using a workaround. Create a new SKU for the same ASIN and replenish a new SKU. Then delete a new SKU and the stock will go to stranded inventory. You can keep it in there until the old stock runs out. It will not work if you use the manufacturer's barcode.
