Fake reviews
Hello All..
Hope someone can help me and sorry for the long explanation but I think it is necessary for you to understand the full picture.
I have been receiving a lot of negative review since late 2019, when Amazon allowed to ANYONE, (no purchase necessary) to submit a review (without comments). This was a GREAT tool used by dishonest seller who pay for fake reviews, since now they can not be tracked, and deceive buyers.
When I notices this change was affecting (decreasing) my product review rating and helping improve the copycat dishonest seller review's rating; I started to get data and analyze it.
My review rating decreased from 4.7 to 4.2 and the copycat product increased from 3.2 to 4.2, on the other hand the number of reviews without verified purchased increased in my listing and in the copycat listing.
The copycat listing double his reviews in just three months, in other word, his listing had 119 reviews in Dec 7, 2019 that they received for almost two years but after this change in the reviews, he had 312 reviews in March 4, 2020, he got 193 new reviews and his sales did not improve, his listing was in the high thirties of the category best sellers. On the other hand I started to receive a lot of negative reviews without comments, so I do not know where they come from and I cannot request to be removed.
The other analysis I did was, I tracked each and every review on my listing and I noticed that by every positive review that received I got a negative review (no comments, no verified purchase), in the next two or three days, not allowing to improve my rating and get back to my previous star rating of 4.7.
I have all the evidence, I provided every detail to Amazon, but instead of helping me they removed some of my reviews from verified purchased, WHY? because in my disdain way to stop or counteract this discouraged and illegal activity, I requested by email to real buyers to write a review.
I made a mistake requesting to my buyers for a review, but this dishonest seller that copied my product and manage my and his reviews as he wants, nothing happens, seems to me they are protected, WHY?
Thank you all.

You can't convince Amazon of anything with lengthy e-mails. Nobody will get past line 2, if even.
You have the option to "report fake review" right there from the review. You don't even need to be the seller. Check a person that left you one of those fakes, check their profile to see what other feedbacks they left. If they left positive for the competition and negative for you, report both reviews as fake.

Sorry to further disappoint but I have been battling a similar situation in which a seller submitted false ip violations against my account and after getting them removed, I noticed he was also breaking other Amazon policies like fake reviews, its not even subtle, blatanly obvious with over 30+ pages of fake reviews. Contacted Amazon, made multiple posts and nothing. Account still up and active. Amazon does not seem to care despite the real reviews he gets being extremely poor.

Mark, the Amazon reps I'm talking with say they're devoted to making the most CUSTOMER-centric online organization. Talk is cheap. I'm waiting for them to put their money where their mouth is. If I were them, and I'm certainly not, I'd ask them to fix your problem. It's real. It's diminishing review truth, which is Amazon's key equity. There are plenty of sleazebag operators here. You and I and Amazon (they say) want to suppress them (Instead, they suppress me & my listings, but I'll just go back on the road and recreate my business and my integrity with the merchants who stand behind my product's benefits.

I had a similar situation except it wasn't a negative review rather it was a low rating. I knew it was fake because I had just recently added this product and had no sales yet. How can someone be allowed to rating something they didn't buy. Amazon only told me I could report it as fake or abuse, but I can't with a rating, that only works for reviews. SUCKS! It's going to be hard to sell this item with a low rating.

We sell across many Amazon marketplaces globally and can state for certain that the fake reviews from no verified purchases are much more prevalent on Amazon USA than in the others. I mean by ratio, not volume., and the differences are stark.

We launched a new product last year and got a 1 star before we even sold a unit, this marketplace is not managed well.

Do you think we should ask Amazon to remove from all listings, all reviews that do not have a validated purchase and most importantly, to no longer allow reviews without a validated purchase?
If dishonest sellers want to damage your listing at least they have to buy your product to give you a fake review and we'll have the opportunity to track the review, as it used to be before late 2019.
