Branding gating request

Hello,

I am reaching out as the owner and trademark holder of our brand to inquire about proactively requesting brand gating to restrict unauthorized sellers and ensure customers receive only authentic products. We have already registered with Amazon Brand Registry, and our goal is to protect our brand from potential counterfeiting or unauthorized resellers who may misrepresent it. Given our investment in quality and authenticity, brand gating would help us maintain the integrity of our product listings and safeguard the customer experience—correct?

I have spoken with Amazon support several times (case ID 16650246381) but have yet to receive a clear response. The last support agent directed me to submit a report through this link: https://www.amazon.com/report/infringement, though this doesn’t seem relevant to my request.

Thank you for considering our request. I would appreciate any guidance on the next steps and any additional information you can provide.

Hi there @Seller_JJ9JKELYkE1rq

To give some background on this topic, our Report Infringement page states the following: When a product detail page is created, it becomes a permanent catalog page on Amazon that will remain even if the creator's inventory sells out. Additionally, when you add your copyrighted image to a product detail page, you grant Amazon and its affiliates a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right to exercise all rights of publicity over the material.

Other sellers can list their items for sale against pages or copyrighted images that you have used. However, we do require sellers to list only against product detail pages that exactly match their items. If you believe sellers are listing against product detail pages that do not exactly match their items, I recommend completing a test buy of the product and then go through Report Abuse to report a misrepresentation.
