"How to Launch a Product in a Competitive Niche with Low PPC Spend and Drive Organic Sales?

I’ve been actively doing product research for the past two months and have noticed a recurring challenge. While tools like Jungle Scout may indicate that a product has only one seller, a closer manual check often reveals multiple similar listings—often more than five—which makes the market more competitive than it initially appears.

Given this situation, I have two key questions:

How can I successfully launch and sell a product that already has several similar listings on Amazon? Specifically, I am looking for strategies to generate organic sales while keeping PPC (Pay-Per-Click) costs low.

What type of product characteristics should I prioritize during product research to find opportunities that offer better chances of organic visibility and long-term profitability, without entering saturated or brand-dominated markets?

Hi @Seller_Db9SY4penfnEL,

Indy from the community management team here, welcome to the forums!

A lot to unpack here, but I'll start with a few high level things. If you're looking to launch a product with similar listings, you'll need to differentiate and improve on the products already available. Try working backwards from customer needs by analyzing competitor listings and identifying opportunities for improvement. You can also provide unique product features, enhanced customer service, or more valuable content (Brand Story, A+ Content, etc.).

Creating a high quality and keyword optimized listing is also a critical element of product success. Linking a few resources on this below:

General Listing Optimization Guidance

Amazon SEO: 7 ways to improve your product’s search rankings

Driving external traffic through social media marketing and influencer collaborations can also impact your organic ranking, which will exist separately from your PPC spend.

But this is just the start. If you haven't already taken time to go through all of Seller University, I would strongly suggest you do so. The New Seller Guide is also helpful for working toward your first product launch.

If you have any specific questions around specific areas of the onboarding journey, please don't hesitate to post a new discussion in the forums as well.

Hope this helps.
