Pending orders FBM
I have noticed over the past year, and it may have always been like this, but if I have a pending order, and for whatever reason, that order does not go through, the item does not get put back into my active inventory automatically. For example, if I have 1 copy of a book, that book ends up as a pending order and expires or gets canceled by of no doing of my own, the quantity will stay on 0 until I go in and change it back to 1, and that is if I catch it. It doesn't even matter the quantity I have; the active inventory never gets replenished back to what it was before the pending order. Has anybody else had this issue?

I have had this occasionally. I always check to make sure.

This is a great way to drain a competitors posted inventory. Nah, no one would ever take advantage of others on Amazon.
It would be so helpful for Amazon just to post that item back on inventory for sellers...SO HELPFUL!!

I've noticed that this is a matter of duration for items stuck in payment pending. If it is 24-48 hours, it generally goes back in to my inventory. If it is longer than that, and I'm not exactly sure of how much, it often does not. Like @Seller_XSqPquQH4FvW1 says, I often check to make sure (and make sure the pricing is still where I want it).

Hi @Seller_yHBWNLHNl1vYe, looks like there were some good replies above but just wondering if you've ever opened any cases on this issue I can look into?

Yes, unfortunately, it has happened to me too. Good thing you noticed! For years I had quite a number of "stranded" books and frankly, I think I still do, because it is too cumbersome to find out which ones were not put back into inventory automatically. I don't think there is a reliable system that Amazon uses, or if there is, I would love to know what it is.

I have also noticed the inventory not updating when the pending order does not go through. The same happens when an order is cancelled. Several years ago, I raised a ticket with seller support who told me it was my responsibility to update the inventory when an order was cancelled and when a pending order does not go thorough. It’s a bit annoying as Amazon should be able to fix this on their backend.
