How to setup a pre-order

Is it possible to list a product as a pre-order? The release date isn’t until Oct but the manufacturer is taking pre-orders to get an idea of how many of these things they are going to make. It is limited edition kind of stuff.

Hi @Seller_2xEkbLg91JMJx,

According to Amazon's pre-order policy, you can accept orders in advance for products that aren't yet ready for sale. However, there are some important requirements to keep in mind:

The product must:

  • Be able to ship within 30 days
  • Not be a Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) product
  • Not be a Music, Video, or DVD product

Since your product won't be released until October, you won't be able to list it as a pre-order on Amazon just yet. You'll need to wait until you're within that 30-day shipping window.

One important note from the help page: "Sellers are responsible for ensuring that pre-order products are received no earlier than the release date (unless authorized by the rights holder). Failure to meet shipping and delivery requirements may impact your Account Health Rating and your ability to list pre-order products."

Hope this helps!

Best regards, Michael
