Shipping Plan Error Message
Hello,
I created a listing and chose for it to be FBA. I have printed all my FNSKU labels on my product already. Production is complete and now it's time to create my shipping plan. However I didn't know that I had to go into FBA settings to change the barcode preference to Amazon and that it automatically defaults to the manufacturer. So when trying to create my shipping plan, I ran into the error of the manufacturer barcode.
My question is, after changing the FBA setting preference to Amazon barcode and waiting 24 hours as dictated, can I just create the new shipping plan and this will convert to Amazon barcode instead of saying Manufacturer Barcode?
I see that people are saying that I need to create a whole new listing. Is this the product listing itself? (I can't imagine having to do this all over again after having so many issues with getting my product and bullet points accepted after more than 10 attempts to make changes for it to be successful). Is this necessary if the listing created was indeed FBA, products have FNSKU labels but the preference in FBA settings was just not changed? Also I see that people are saying that I need to edit the SKU for this product. Does this mean I have to go into my GS1 account edit this SKU there and then edit the SKU on Amazon for it to then convert the Amazon Barcode instead moving forward?
I'm seeing conflicting information as some are just saying that you need to change the preference in which I did. However it does not reflect the change as of yet when going back in to create the shipping plan.
In my scenario where all else is as it should be but, just now changing the preference, what would be my next steps? Just waiting 24 hours? I have had obstacle after obstacle with Amazon and honestly I'm just so close and yet seem so far it's discouraging. I can't get past the 1st step in shipping plan creation due to manufacturer barcode error. There is really no detailed information about this before having this issue that can avoid the many tears shed out of frustration. It's almost as if you have to face the problem to know that it exists rather than having the different scenarios provided in seller university when watching tutorials on how to create the shipping plan.
Please help, it has been exciting and a nightmare all at the same time. Just when you get one issue resolved another pops up out of nowhere. This product also requires no prep and of course I will be labeling myself which all this does reflect when attempting to create the shipping plan but the Manufacturer Barcodes remain the only issue and preventing me from completing my shipping plan to finally get products shipped out and on its way to Amazon. No case has been opened yet as I'm trying to be patient and wait 24 hours while also doing my due diligence trying to see what really needs to be done to avoid any unnecessary stress or wasted time as this has been stressful enough getting this far.

Hi @Seller_BmrlsegBTxsJw, when you change to an Amazon barcode you will need to create a new listing.
Follow the steps below to change from manufacturer barcode to Amazon barcode:
- Create a new product offer for each affected ASIN and select the Amazon barcode setting: On the Manage FBA Inventory page, search for the ASIN.
- To the right of the ASIN, click the Edit dropdown and select Add another condition.
- On the offer creation page, enter a new Seller SKU, fill out the remaining required fields, and click Save and finish. Note: You may select the same item condition as your existing offer.
- On the Choose Barcode Type page, select Amazon barcode and click Save & Continue.
- On the Convert to Fulfilled by Amazon page, complete Add dangerous goods information and click Save & Continue.
- If you wish to send your products to Amazon now, please continue creating your shipping plan.
