Product Price Adjustment

Hello All,

I would like to know your thoughts about price adjusting a product when a customer wants to return it because it found it at a cheaper price on Amazon.

The particular listing got a New Seller that put the price way below everyone else. We are only 3 sellers in the listing.

Is it a good idea to offer a partial refund for the difference? Is it allow by Amazon?

Some sellers offer a price match if the customer is willing to keep the product. It's not against the rules, but if you go this route and offer it to the customer and they accept, I'd suggest to provide any partial refund via the returns interface to close out the return, otherwise you might be later providing a full refund to the customer PLUS the partial discretionary refund you issued any other way. Obviously you wouldn't want to pro-actively do this, waiting for the customer to agree would prevent negative consequences such as misunderstandings and/or bad feedback.

I would not.

Make them return it.

They have to pay the return fee and if you use Amazon shipping, Amazon will reimburse you for it.

If it is the same item then he noticed the price when he made the purchase.

be careful becuase theres a loop hole in Amazon's Saft-t claim policy that they refuse to fix..

If you price adjust something (even if you refund them only a Dollar, and then they return the item...its then unelegable for a safe-t claim because YOU initiiated a refund....

so if the return to you an empty box...you are SOL.
