Pending orders - holding my sales, why?

This is what Amazon said about pending orders: On the Manage orders page, an order with a status of Pending might indicate an issue with the buyer's payment method or a convenience store payment method. In some cases, our payment and order detail verification processes can potentially extend order processing times for as long as 21 days.

Actualy i have 104 pending orders, with 8 orders over the 21 days reflected here in the help page, 8 of them are over the 21 days, what really call my attention that, 17 orders are from the same item and anather 20 from other items, this really have me worry if this is something is done in purpose by anyone.

i can not see who is buying of course because the order is not complete, but i have my items stock in a cart that is obvious not way it can be complete what really is affecting my cash flow.

What can i do

You can't do anything. Amazon is in control of handling all FBA orders.

And while Amazon tells you that Pending is due to "awaiting payment" or whatever, it's more often just the fact that Amazon hasn't gotten around to shipping your orders. If you recently shipped in inventory, then Amazon may not have finished processing it to the point of it being ready for them to ship; in this case, multiple long pending times is not unusual. (currently, many of the books I shipped on Sept 12 are showing delivery by Oct 22; it's absurd).

This could also be a competitor trying to tie up your stock. If the orders are for large quantities, then you can change your Max Qty setting on the listing, to prevent one order from tying up all of your stock. Of course, this does not prevent the competitor from making multiple orders, but it's about all you can do.

We have had incidents recently where our estimation of delivery time and integration into Amazon's system is way off. This can potentially lead to stock being sold while it is in the process of transfer between fulfillment centers. Amazon's AI knows the product is in transit but will still meet the shipping promise date. They are "sold" while in transit, then forwarded to the customer upon arrival. The only time you get hurt here is when a customer gets tired of waiting and cancels the order. At least this scenario seems to match what our experience has shown us.

Can you tell us which FBA warehouse is involved here? I had huge problems with RDU4 (Fayetteville, NC). Other people complained about PSC2 and ABQ2. On the other hand my exporter in South Africa shipped a product to the Lansing MI FBA warehouse on Oct 2nd. I just received notice that the box was delivered and that Amazon is checking it in(Oct 4th) ? Can you believe it?

Good morning @Seller_BtGbPbIGvgWIL,

The information given by Seller Support on how Pending orders can occur is correct, typically they indicate issues on the buyer's payment.

I want to follow up on the 8 orders over 21 days specifically, do you have the case where you raised this to Seller Support? I would like to review the details to determine how best to proceed. I look forward to hearing from you!
