Amazon Processing FBM orders with wrong shipping and lead times?

We sell some items that are both FBA and FBM (when stock runs out at Amazon switches to FBM) and some FBM only for slower moving sizes . These items are actually made to order when they go to FBM (Heavy lifting supplies so different lengths and capacities). Since we actually have to make them when we run out we have a lead time before shipping out. Two days ago suddenly we are getting FBM orders that randomly no longer have the proper ship dates. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why some orders have the proper lead time and why others are only giving us 2 days (normal lead times is 4-7 days depending on the product complexity).

We talked to customer service and they were like "shipping times when back to standard", but when we actually look in our system then times are set up correctly.

Does anyone have any advice on what could be going on? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! And we currently paused all FBM orders to mitigate the hit to our metrics.

Check your handling time default -- make sure Amazon has not automated that.

Make sure none of your shipping templates allow automation.

If you allow automation anywhere, Amazon takes that as permission to tinker at will and they will override the SKU-specific handling times you set.

I am addressing this same issue in more detail in this thread:

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/seller-forums/discussions/t/410a96b7-8d90-45a3-b284-e2bebc381227?postId=7b43f982-26df-41fa-a7e1-b6703798405b

I suspect this issue started for you with orders on or about the 6th?

We "solved" this problem by re-loading lead time data (inventory loader file, only requires ASIN, time and quantity). Support promises this fixed the problem, but then refused to admit the problem exists, so no guarantee this data doesn't get stepped on again. That call with "support" was another hour (and shortened existence due to elevated blood pressure) I can add to the cost of this error.

I'm amazed Amazon can get out of bed in the morning without stepping on their own ****. I hate they've built such a monopoly that I'm forced to sell on this steaming pile of bits.
