We Need a Permanent Solution to Stop Fraudulent RTO Returns
As an online seller, one of the biggest headaches we face is fraudulent RTO (Return to Origin) returns. Some customers place an order with no intention of keeping it, just to return it after it's been shipped. This leads to financial losses, wasted time, and extra effort. To make matters worse, delivery partners sometimes don't properly verify the details, which allows these returns to happen unchecked.
To combat this, linking a customer's Aadhar number to their account could help verify their identity and address before shipping out the order. It’ll make sure we’re sending products to legitimate buyers only. Another simple fix would be to require buyers to confirm their order before it’s shipped. A quick SMS or email confirmation could prevent unnecessary returns.
Delivery partners also play a key role here. They should be double-checking the customer’s details before they even ship the product, ensuring we’re not sending packages to people who aren’t serious buyers. If delivery partners are held more accountable, it could save us all a lot of hassle.
By taking these steps, we can reduce fraudulent returns, save costs, and make the whole process smoother for everyone involved.
