Shout out to @Seller_ybNdjD56bfua8 for posting a discussion regarding suggested improvements to the Brand Registry enrollment process.
The thread is linked HERE, but I am copy/pasting their comments here as well:
- It appears there's a need to reconsider the brand requirements for Amazon. Currently, the sole requirement for brand registry is the possession of a valid trademark, which seems inadequate. The existence of numerous trademarks with similar names poses a challenge, potentially leading to trademark application rejection. Instead, why not broaden the criteria to include proof of certification such as LLC, Ltd, Inc, etc. printed on the product, evidence of self-manufacturing, or sole distribution rights? These validations should be sufficient to establish brand identity, not solely reliant on trademark ownership.
- Moreover, there are numerous trademarks that remain active despite the businesses associated with them having ceased operations long ago. This outdated approach doesn't align with modern business practices. Amazon should adopt a more pragmatic stance in its dealings with brands. The absence of brand registry opens the door to repeated hijackings by individuals who have no association with the product, leading to financial losses and tarnishing the brand's reputation. Addressing these concerns through minor adjustments could significantly mitigate these issues, provided Amazon is open to constructive dialogue.

Engaging less is probably better than more. I have a few items on Amazon, as do my friends, and 200 items on eBay cause less hassle than 2 on Amazon.
The cultural difference between “third world support” and a “western” mindset can be very stressful.

I own my own "brand" but not enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry. The reason why is because I don't have a pending or registered trademark, mainly because they aren't necessary by most business metrics. IP for small business is oxymoronic, if that makes any sense. If someone were to rip off my brand, logo, product, I would be S.O.L. because retaining legal representation to fight it would drain what little profits I've made. Those little profits are also attributed to Amazon's retail takeover and the slow deterioration of my presence and ability to make profit on Amazon. It's all one big contradiction. IP, by todays standards, are reserved for big business. I would never recommend any new "brand" seek out any type of patent or TM. My question for Amazon Brand Registry team:
1. Are there any other ways to prove brand ownership besides registered trademarks? First to market? Patent applications? Why registered trademarks?
2. Does brand registry help in product search? i.e. if someone has brand registry and I don't, am I impacted by that?
I look forward to my meaningless post falling off into the Amazon Discussion Forum ether.

One of our greatest frustrations with Brand Registry is related to the Report a Violation tool and the lag time between placing test buys and receiving them. We have counterfeit sellers who list offers in our legitimate listings and end up selling thousands of units before Amazon removes them.
There are obvious red flags when a seller is selling counterfeit items:
- Brand new seller account
- Zero or very few reviews on the seller account; if there are reviews, they are usually negative or obviously fake
- Seller address is a UPS store, a random apartment in NYC, an empty lot in Alabama, etc.
- Products in the seller's storefront are all generic Alibaba junk
We have tried reporting these sellers without test buys and had our reports accepted, only to be reversed retroactively. Now we are placing test buys every time, but the delay between placing the test buy and the test buy arriving (often several weeks because they are shipping from overseas) enables these sellers to sell thousands of units of inventory. When the test buys finally arrive, we report them—if they're even still in the listing—but by then, it's too late. Thousands of customers placed orders and will receive counterfeit inventory.
I know there are plenty of brands that abuse Report a Violation to police unauthorized sellers, but this is not that. Brands dealing with pervasive counterfeit problems should be given more leeway to kick obvious counterfeit sellers out of their listings.

Support from the brand registry in my experience hasn't been great which is why most come to these forms.
I've escalated the same cases multiple times however there isn't much support besides being told the same thing "we are working on it".
For example my most recent case: 15284439871, some other seller created a brand name with my exact brand and claimed the ASIN. Now I've lost access to my A+ content and ability to make edits for that ASIN despite owning the trademark, having brand registry, and being enrolled in the transparency program... still waiting for a solution.
There should be multiple layers of protection to enroll a brand.

Dear Amazon Seller Support Team,
1.I hope this message finds you well.I am writing to you as a concerned brand owner and seller on the Amazon platform. My brand has been registered with Amazon for years. While I greatly appreciate the opportunities provided by Amazon to reach a wider audience and grow my business, I am deeply troubled by the ongoing issue of unauthorized sellers offering my brand products on the platform.
2.Despite our efforts to maintain strict control over our distribution channels and uphold the integrity of our brand, unauthorized sellers persist in listing and selling counterfeit or unauthorized versions of our products. This not only tarnishes the reputation of our brand but also undermines the trust and confidence of our loyal customers.
3.As a brand owner, it is extremely frustrating to witness our products being misrepresented and sold without our consent. We have invested significant resources in developing high-quality products and establishing our brand reputation, only to have it compromised by unauthorized sellers who do not adhere to our standards.
4.I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter and urge you to take proactive measures to address the issue of unauthorized sellers of my brand products on the Amazon platform.Specifically, I respectfully request that Amazon implement stricter controls to restrict Only authorized sellers can obtain the right to sell my branded products. This will not only protect the interests of legitimate brand owners like myself but also ensure a better shopping experience for Amazon customers.
5.I regret that sellers can directly take away our hard work without having to pay for promotional fees on Amazon. Sellers can openly take money from us, even without bearing any risk. We bear the risk of developing products that may not sell, and promotion is also our own effort. I hope Amazon can protect the interests of small merchants like us who are powerless against copycats, in order to cooperate better.
6.Furthermore, I am willing to provide any necessary documentation or evidence to support our request and facilitate the enforcement of these restrictions. I believe that by working together, we can effectively combat unauthorized selling and uphold the integrity of the Amazon marketplace.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Seller_idQUopIou9L5d
1. Brand Referral Bonus is only possible to incorporate in running ads.
I'd like a system where brand can give a LINK similar to how Amazon associates and influencers use. And thus earn commission.
In other words, a system where brands can generate links to direct outside people to their products and earn commission out of sales.
2. Vine program should be such that sellers should pay ONLY for the number of reviews he gets. It sucks to apply for, say, 10 and pay for products and processing and get one review.

I had a couple of real customer reviews deleted because apparently they were flagged by an AI or something.
Since they were actual customer reviews and did not apply to any of the "review violation" on amazon policy, I wrote to seller central, but the reply I got was to write to community guideline team instead.
And there, no reply.
Most brand owners are serious about their businesses.
When a review was an actual review but was deleted by a wrongful flagging by the AI, I hope there is a way to talk with someone in the Brand Registry or someone else in Seller Help who are not part of the community guideline team and can actually do something to correct what went wrong by the AI flagging.

There's need for a system where listing inactivation gets resolved much faster than the current 48 hours. Also, there's a bug in the system with regards to listing inactivation.
When you get "search suppression" of listing or listing inactivation, the system is supposed to tell you what the error is (according to seller help).
But that's not working. If I click
"Resolve search suppressions" button, it merely says:
"No recommended improvements."
The system does not tell the seller what to fix. I think it's a bug in the system.
Currently, even if the error is corrected somehow, one needs to wait 48 hours and that's a long time.
I would like someone in the brand registry to have the power to immediately reinstate the listing once the error is resolved rather than having the auto system take up two days with the listing down.

We are beyond frustrated with Amazon support. We are the brand and trademark ownder and manufaturer of our product, and have registered our brand with Amazon. No one else is selling our brand but us.
We are unable to update simple information on our listed, it keeps conlficting witht the "Amazon catalog", error 8541. Various attemps with support has been unable to resolve this, and yes we have deleted and relisted (what an absurd solution) which also did not work.
Amazon has also flagged some of our products as restricted but after 20 attempts to get an explanation are unable to tell us why. The resolution suggestions from their side makes no sense, and currently these products remain unlisted, this is beyond frustrating.
