Established for VAT purposes
I've had an email from Amazon beginning with the following:
"Your disbursements are at risk of being deactivated in all stores you operate worldwide (excluding Amazon.in) as we have indicators that you might not be UK established for VAT purposes. As a result, we need you to provide additional documentary evidence proving that your company is established in the UK in accordance with this legislation, within 30 days of this notification. " Followed by all sorts of
I have to say I'm a bit confused (and of course seller support have been no help as usual). I am a tiny sole trader business and not VAT registered.
They are asking for documents, but don't say what documents and being a sole trader, I don't really have anything other than a tax return - which is pretty irrelevant.
I get that sinking feeling that I'm going to get stuck like a few years ago when I was stopped from selling some of my stock as NEW because it was a CD in the "Pop" category. Despite being the manufacturer and seller, I could never get permission to sell in that category, even though I sent everything they asked for. I now have to sell those titles as "used" despite them being new and sealed!
Any ideas what they actually want?

I too have had this, and so have others - there are already 2 or 3 threads about the issue. I have spent the last 4 days submitting a whole host of documents, and each time they come back requesting more !
I too am a sole-trader, only sell in UK, am not VAT registered, never have been, nowhere near the threshold, and VAT exempt status registered on Amazon.
Pointless contacting SS, they haven't a clue. Does the email not tell you which documents they need ? - mine did.

.....but don't say what documents
You need to go to the web address page in the email you received, and it tells you what to send for your sole-trader account. It is not a direct link - you will need to cut and paste the address.
