Do I need to register VAT in UK?

Amazon tells me I need a VAT number in UK.

I tried to register for VAT on the UK government website but the UK government said I'm not eligible for VAT.

Does anybody knows who I need to follow in order to reinstate my Amazon account?

Regards,

Eurico Ferreira Jr.

Are you a UK resident ? - I assume not, ? If not and you intend to store your goods in UK for FBA then you do need to be VAT registered here as you are considered a NETP. The £85,000 threshold does not apply to non-UK residents.

Hello @Seller_NNu2xgeF1v4jw,

Here Simon from Amazon, happy to help.

While I'm unable to provide specific tax advice, I will attach here a resource that might be useful for you:

- VAT requirements in the UK – Registration process

If your question is still unanswered, I would suggest to reach out to Seller Support or perhaps seek for legal advice.

Best,

Simon

AS per your other thread, the UK gov will tell you you aren't eligible for VAT, but it will depend on what information you have provided.

If you didn't tell them you are storing stock via FBA - then they will give you the information accordingly.

@Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGid has provided the relevant advise to follow.
