Pending orders lost due to Amazon Payment issues

Since last 40 day’s I have lost close to 23 orders totaling about 2.5lakhs worth in sales because of the payment gateway issues from Amazon.

I have raised multiple cases and complaints with the details of the order however Amazon is blaming the customer’s bank.

What Happens?

I get an order in the seller central which shows in pending state with reason -“Payment Pending” the amazon seller central team says it because payment has not been authorized by the customer bank or credit card company. As per the RBI, any transaction is authorized or declined in max 4 hours of time however on Amazon the order stays in pending state for approx 24-48 hours and then disappears without leaving any traces. As there is no information available unable to contact the customer and get the order placed again and also unable to raise the complaint to Amazon.

If anyone else facing the same issue please share your cases.

I have raised may complaints to Amazon but they are unable to assist.

Yes, RBI says that there is a 4 hour limit. Amazon will then ask the buyer to furnish another payment through some other credit card or net banking. So it may take more than 4 hours if the customer has problems with different modes of payment. If a customer has problems with all his modes of payment, he has to sort out the problem with his bank or maybe order by COD if it is allowed. It is not Amazon’s mistake so there is no purpose in complaining to them.

But how would we as seller ensure that customer are not lost due to this, at times customer search through pages and finds our product not necessary would do that again, next time the customer may go with anyother product. At least we should be provided with some information or way to contact these customer and close the deal. I have lost close to 4 lakh worth of sales due to these issues .
