Driving External Traffic - Impact On Rankings

I read everywhere that if you drive external traffic to amazon (i.e, facebook and instagram ads) it will yield positively on your rankings.

Does anyone have experience with this? How long do you recommend I run the ads? Should I even run them?

I'm running instagram ads but I have no way of measuring the impact it is having on my rankings. I can only measure the direct impact of the ad (CTR, conversions, sales, etc).

Thanks in advance

Hi @Seller_MooYIYE00lU24,

I won't be able to speak to the analyzation of metrics if you are purchasing the ads outside of Amazon. However, I would suggest understanding what your average daily sales look like before you run external ads and then compare to them to the days you have ads running.

Additionally, I would also suggest taking a look at Amazon Display Advertising. This is an ad type that you would purchase through your Amazon Advertising console and the ads will either show up in places on Amazon.com and drive to your detail pages, or they will show up on external sites and drive to a landing page of your choice. Part of the benefit of running these types of external ads with Amazon is that you will receive metrics that will tell you how much of your actual sales are attributed to the display ads. You can learn more about those metrics here.

Let me know if this information helps!

Tatiana
